Berlin/Munich, 14.10. 2021 – Last night, the Korian Foundation Award for Diversity and Respect in Care was granted for the first time: Immanuel Seniorenzentrum Schöneberg in Berlin received the award for its commitment to LGBTI* culturally sensitive care. The prize was awarded as the German Care Award in the Diversity and Respect category during the German Care Day.
Munich, 29 July 2021 – Within the framework of the qualification programme THE CARE CHAMPIONS, 20 people with refugee backgrounds acquired knowledge in the basics of care and completed a care-specific German course over a period of 4 months. The participants came from a total of 14 different nations, including Gambia, Nigeria, Somalia, Iran, Togo, Syria and Afghanistan. During a two-week short internship in six facilities of different providers, the interns gained an interesting insight into the everyday work of a nursing home.
Munich, 12th May 2021 - On the occasion of today's International Nurses Day, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, who is the founder of today's care system, the director of the Korian Foundation, Elisabeth Scharfenberg, reminds us that the realisation and the narrative that care workers are system-relevant is not enough. There must be tangible consequences, both for the care workers themselves and ultimately also for those in need of care. Because anyone can be affected by the need of care.
We are extremely happy about the fact that our important and well-designed program has now become an officially certified training course. On the one hand, we hope that this will motivate carers to sign up. But more essential is that they realize the importance of stress management and that they will get some useful advice through the program that might give them a boost in their effort to cope with everyday life. Because only when caregivers are doing well, the people in need of care will also be doing well.
What factors are significant for the fact that carers are so sceptical about the current vaccines against COVID-19? Korian Deutschland AG, Germany's largest private nursing home operator with its head office in Munich, now wants to analyse this question as well as potentially influencing factors in a project on behalf of the Korian Foundation for Care and Aging with Dignity.
Munich, 12.02.2021 – Carnival is cancelled this year. To ease the sadness of this a bit, the Korian Foundation for Care and Ageing with Dignity is planning a live cooking event on the eve of Shrove Tuesday with the nutrition project "Palate Care". And food, as we all know, makes people happy.
Munich, 10th November 2020 – A free Online Course for stress management has started in November.
The German Korian Foundation was established on 15 February 2020. Through this, KORIAN Deutschland wants to further strengthen its social commitment and work for high-quality care and the possibility of ageing with dignity.
