Our Projects

For high-quality care and for ageing with dignity

About Our Projects

The objective of the Foundation is to initiate innovative projects and initiatives in the field of care for the elderly and in the field of health care. The initial focus is on care staff, their training and their working conditions. Our central concern is to bring the general working conditions and the current image of the caring profession more into the public awareness and to bring about improvements.

Our Running Projects

AromaPflege

Aroma therapy for caregivers

Together with Primavera, the Korian Foundation offers free seminars for nursing staff under the title "AromaPflege", in which the basics of aromatherapy are taught. In four-hour workshops, care workers learn how aromatic oils help to reduce stress and how they can integrate this knowledge into their daily care work routine.

The "AromaPflege" workshops are free of charge. Teams or nursing homes (no individuals) can apply at
info@korian-stiftung.de

Care Champions

Enabling refugees to start a career in the care sector

As a cooperation partner in the "Care Champions" program, the Korian Foundation supports socialbee gGmbH, which trains refugees to become care assistants: Participating companies enable the refugees to start their care careers directly and thus cover their staff requirements at the same time. A new concept that successfully combines the important issues of integration and the nursing shortage in Germany and therefore offers a solution to the current social problem.

DigiHealth BGM

Digital support for your own health

"Digi Health BGM" ist an app for employees in the care sector developed by the Korian Foundation together with DigiRehab GmbH, the health insurance company mkk - meine krankenkasse and Korian Germany. "Digi Health BGM" was initially introduced in four Korian facilities and is aimed to be used in more nursing homes.

Gewaltfrei stärken

Violence in the care sector – a taboo subject

Violence in the care sector is a taboo subject. It is not always clearly recognizable as bodily harm. Where does violence begin? Who inflicts it on whom? And how can awareness of this topic be increased? These and other questions are addressed in the workshop format "Gewaltfrei stärken" by the Korian Foundation.

The "Gewaltfrei stärken" workshops are free of charge. Teams or nursing homes (no individuals) can apply at info@korian-stiftung.de

Pflege2030

The nursing home of the future

What should a nursing home of the future look like? This is the focus of the "Pflege2030" project. In view of the great need for action in inpatient long-term care, the Curanum nursing home in Karlsfeld, Bavaria, will be a testing facility for the care of the future. The facility's equipment will be expanded with digital care technology and staffing levels will be researched and optimized. All of this in order to make ageing in nursing homes a dignified experience.

Our project partners

For the "Pflege2030" pilot project, the Korian Foundation and Korian Deutschland GmbH are working together with the University of Bremen (Prof. Heinz Rothgang) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS. The three-year project is funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention.

A workshop on dying, death, and grief in care facilities
