Scoring points with the Korian Foundation: Auszeit-ICHZeit grants training points

The Korian Foundation for Care and Aging with Dignity is now offering a certified training course with its Auszeit-ICHZeit program, which enables caregivers to collect training points.

People who work in geriatric care or health care are not legally required to pursue further training. The situation is different for doctors, midwives or maternity nurses.

Nevertheless, there is an opportunity for professional carers to gain further qualifications and extend their competences. To do so, they register with the initiative “Registrierung beruflich Pflegender” (=Registration of Professional Carers), which aims to motivate carers to expand their competences in order to strengthen their professional status. Registered carers must then achieve a total of 40 training points within two years.

The online programme Auszeit-ICHZeit, which helps participants to improve their stress management and self-care skills, allows them to get 10 training points. In addition, the successful completion of the course is rewarded with a recognised certificate. But it is not only the participants of Auszeit-ICHZeit who can be pleased, but also their employers, because the training is free of charge and can be done at any time outside working hours.

“We are extremely happy about the fact that our important and well-designed program has now become an officially certified training course. On the one hand, we hope that this will motivate carers to sign up. But more essential is that they realize the importance of stress management and that they will get some useful advice through the program that might give them a boost in their effort to cope with everyday life. Because only when caregivers are doing well, the people in need of care will also be doing well,” declares Elisabeth Scharfenberg, managing director of the Korian Foundation.
