Protecting your privacy whilst processing personal data is an important issue for us. When you access our website, our web servers retain the IP of your Internet service provider, the website from which you access us, our websites accessed by you as well as the access date and duration by default. This information is absolutely necessary for the technical transmission of the websites and the safe server operation. This data is not subject to any personalised evaluation.

Where you send us data via contact form, this data is retained on our servers in the course of data backup. We use your data exclusively to handle your request. Your data is treated in strict confidence. It is not passed on to third parties.

Personal Data
Personal data is data about your identity. This includes your name, address and e-mail address. You do not have to divulge personal data in order to access our website either. We need you name and address as well as other information in order to offer you the desired service in some cases.

The same applies if we provide you with information material by request or respond to your enquiries. We will always point this out to you in these cases. Moreover, we retain only data transferred by you to us automatically or voluntarily.

If you use one of our services, we usually only collect data required in order to offer you our service. We may ask you for further, although voluntary information. Whenever we process personal data, we do so in order to offer you our service or to pursue our commercial goals.

Automatically Retained Data

Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and retains information in server log files which are transferred to us automatically by your browser. This includes:

• request date and time

• name of the requested file

• page from which the file was requested

• access status (file transmitted, file not found, etc.)

• used web browser and operating system

• full IP address of the requesting computer

• transmitted data volume

This data is not combined with other data sources. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in website stability and functionality enhancement in terms of point (f) of Art. 6(1) GDPR.

We retain this data for a short time for reasons of technical safety, in particular to avert attack attempts on our web servers. We cannot use this data to draw conclusions on individual persons. The data is anonymised by abbreviating the IP address at domain level after seven days at the latest, making it impossible to create any reference to the individual user. Besides, the data is processed in anonymised form for statistical purposes, but is neither reconciled with other data pools nor passed on to third parties, not even in extracts. The number of page impressions is outlined merely in the context of our server statistics we publish every two years in our activity report.

Cookies
When you access our websites, we may retain information on your computer in the form of cookies. Many cookies contain a cookie ID which is a unique identifier of the cookie. It consists of a character string through which websites and servers can be matched with the concrete web browser in which the cookie was retained. This allows the websites and servers to differentiate the data subject’s individual browser from other web browsers containing other cookies. A specific web browser can be recognised again and identified using the unique cookie ID.

Using session cookies, the controller can provide the website users with a user-friendly service, which would not be possible without the placement of cookies.

Cookies can be used to optimise the information and offers on our website for the user’s interests. Cookies enable us, as already mentioned, to recognise the users of our website. The purpose of this recognition is to make the use of our website easier for the users. For example, the user of a website using cookies is not required to enter his or her access data again each time he or she accesses the website, since this is done by the website and by the cookie placed on the user’s computer system. Another example is the cookie of a shopping cart in the online shop. The online shop memorises the articles a customer has added to the virtual shopping cart by using a cookie.

Google Analytics with Anonymisation Function

WWe use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of the company Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, hereinafter “Google”, on our page. Google Analytics uses cookies, i.e. text files that are retained on your computer and thus allow to analyse your use of the website.

The information generated by the cookie, e.g. time, place and frequency of your website access including your IP address, is transmitted to any retained by Google in the USA.

We use Google Analytics with the “_gat._anonymizeIp” addition on our website. In this case, your IP address is already abbreviated and thus anonymised by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Google will use this information to analyse how you use our page, to compile reports about the website activities for us and to render further services related to the website and web use. Where stipulated by law or to the extent that third parties process this data on behalf of Google, Google will also transfer this information to third parties, where appropriate.

Google will, by its own account, never associate your IP address with other Google data in any case. You can prevent the installation of cookies by changing the settings on your browser accordingly. Please note, however, that you may not have full access to any and all of our website functions in this case.

Furthermore, Google offers a deactivation add-on for the most common browsers, enabling you enhanced control of the data captured by Google on the websites you access. The add-on signals the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that no information on the website access is to be transferred to Google Analytics. The deactivation add-on for browsers of Google Analytics does not prevent, however, that information will be transferred to us or to other web analysis services we may use. Further information on the installation of the browser add-on is available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB

Where you consented to Google linking your web and app browsing history up with your Google account and using information from your Google account to personalise ads, Google uses your data in combination with Google Analytics data to create target group lists for cross-device remarketing. To this end, Google Analytics will first capture on our website your Google-authenticated ID linked up with your Google account (i.e. personal data). Subsequently, Google Analytics will temporarily link up your ID with your Google Analytics data to optimise our target groups.

If you disagree, you can disable this by setting your Google account in the “My Account” area accordingly.

GA Audience:
Our website uses GA Audience, a service of the company Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter: GA Audience). GA Audience uses, among others, cookies, which will be retained on your computer and other mobile devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets etc.) and can be used to analyse the use of the relevant devices, with part of the data being evaluated across devices and GA Audience gaining access to the cookies created in the context of the use of Google AdWords and Google Analytics. During such use, data, in particular the user’s IP address and activities, can be transferred to and retained on a server of the company Google. Google may transfer this data to third parties, where this is stipulated by law or to the extent that third parties process this data on behalf of Google. You can prevent personal data (in particular your IP address) from being captured, forwarded and processed by deactivating the execution of JavaScript in your browser or installing a tool like ‘NoScript’. In addition, you can prevent the capture of the data created by the Google cookie and related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) to as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB. For further information on data protection when using GA Audience, please access the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2700409?hl=en&ref_topic=2611283

Google Doubleclick
DoubleClick by Google is a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies to present advertisements relevant to you. In doing so, a pseudonymised identification number (ID) is assigned to your browser to verify what ads were displayed in your browser and what ads were accessed. The cookies do not contain personal information. Using DoubleClick cookies enables Google and its partner websites only to place ads based on previous accesses to our or other websites on the Internet. The information generated by the cookies will be transferred by Google to and retained on a server in the USA for evaluation purposes. Google transfers the data to third parties only under legal regulations or as part of order data processing. Google will not amalgamate your data with other data captured by Google in any case.

By using our websites, you agree to the processing of the data collected about you by Google and to the manner of data processing described above as well as to the purpose specified. You can prevent the cookies from being retained by changing the settings of your browser software accordingly. Please note, however, that you may not have full access to any and all functions of our websites in this case. In addition, you can prevent both the capture of the data generated by the cookies and related to your use of the websites to and the processing of such data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the link indicated under ‘DoubleClick deactivation extension’. Alternatively, you can also use this opt-out to deactivate DoubleClick cookies.

Google Web Fonts
Google Web Fonts (http://www.google.com/webfonts/) are used to optically improve different information on our web presence. Once the page is accessed, the web fonts are transferred to the browser cache in order to use them for presentation. If the browser does not support the Google Web Fonts or denies access, the text is displayed in a standard font. No cookies are retained when the website visitor accesses the page. Data transferred in connection with the page impression is sent to resource-specific domains, such as fonts.googleapis.com or fonts.gstatic.com. It is not linked to data collected or used in connection with the concurrent use of authenticated Google services, such as Gmail.

You can set your browser such that the fonts will not be loaded by the Google servers (e.g. by installing add-ons, such as NoScript or Ghostery for Firefox). If the browser does not support the Google fonts or you deny access to the Google servers, the text is displayed in the standard font of the system. Information on the Google Web Fonts privacy terms is available at:

YouTube in Extended Privacy Mode
We use the provider YouTube for the integration of videos, which are embedded in the extended privacy mode. Like most websites, however, YouTube uses cookies to gather information about the visitors of its website as well. YouTube uses them, among others, to capture video statistics to avoid fraud and to improve user friendliness. This, too, results in a connection being established with the Google DoubleClick network. When you start the video, this might trigger further data processing operations we cannot influence. Further information on data protection by YouTube is available in its Privacy Guidelines: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7671399

Safety
We took technical and administrative safety precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All our employees as well as service providers working for us have committed to the valid data protection laws.

Whenever we gather and process personal data, it is encrypted before its transfer, which means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our safety precautions in this context are subject to a process of continuous improvement, and our privacy policies are continually being revised. Please ensure that you have the latest version at hand.
